BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, issued a guideline on Wednesday to facilitate the development of blockchain industry, aiming to enable blockchain technology to give a full display in boosting economic and social development.
The guideline proposes that the city will make great breakthrough in key underlying technologies of blockchain, and introduce 2-3 leading domestic blockchain companies with core technologies by 2022.
Guangzhou is expected to build itself into a famous software city in China with blockchain as its characteristics and make 2-3 blockchain industry bases, in a bid to cultivate a group of major enterprises with safe and stable blockchain products.
According to the guideline, Guangzhou is aimed at forming a batch of replicable blockchain application scenarios, building a national level blockchain pioneer demonstration zone and striving to make blockchain technology at the forefront of the nation.
To achieve the goal, the city has specified major tasks from seven aspects, including building an independent information technology system, creating coordinated industrial ecology, introducing leading companies in the industry, building an industrial agglomeration development highland, actively expanding industrial application scenarios, increasing support for industry talents, and optimizing industrial development environment.
