BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Hakim Unique Internet Co., Ltd. (300300.SZ), a Chinese provider of smart city and smart healthcare solutions, announced on Monday that it will set up an Internet hospital in partnership with its subsidiary and the subsidiary of its controlling shareholder.
The Internet hospital will have a registered capital of 30 million yuan, of which 40 percent will be contributed by Hakim Unique, 40 percent by its subsidiary Great Health Companion, and 20 percent by Pingtan Financial Innovation Service Center Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the controlling shareholder of Hakim Unique, according to the announcement.
Aiming at easing the pressure of offline hospitals and optimizing the allocation of medical resources, the joint venture will provide the public with online consultation, online diagnosis, health management and other services, noted the announcement.
Through the Internet hospital, Hakim Unique can further expand smart healthcare business, enhance core competitiveness and sustainability, the company said, adding that it has increased investment in the application of intelligent technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence in smart healthcare in recent years.
After preliminary exploration and driven by demands amid the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, China's Internet healthcare industry has further grown. The market size of online diagnosis and remote treatment may reach 15 billion yuan, and that of Internet healthcare operation segment is likely to exceed 10 billion yuan in the near future, according to analysts.
