BEIJING, April 22(Xinhua) -- Horgos Port exported 19,600 tons of fruits and vegetables in the first quarter of 2020, with a value of 171 million yuan, which, accounting for 59.21 percent of the total exports of fruits and vegetables in Xinjiang, made itself the largest export port of fruits and vegetables in Xinjiang.
With the growing demand for fruits and vegetables in the Central Asian market, many logistics companies seized the opportunity to settle down in Horgos. Enterprises in Shaanxi, Guangxi, Gansu and other places transport their high-quality fruits and vegetables to the warehouse, and together with local fruits and vegetables in Yili Prefecture exported to Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, which greatly enhanced the international competitiveness Chinese fruit and vegetable.
In 2019, Horgos Port opened up a green channel for rapid customs clearance of agricultural and sideline products, which in result greatly stimulated fruit and vegetable export.
