MILAN, Apr. 9 (Class Editori) - Digitalization, contact with the large international distribution, modernization of the fair system. These are some of the pillars of the export plan developed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and which the ministry intends to discuss in the coming days with sectoral tables, involving representatives of the business world.
“From next week we will start a series of sector tables with business representatives with the aim of relaunching foreign trade and promoting Made in Italy products worldwide. These are our excellences, our land and tradition and, in the face of this crisis, we have the task of defending it by any means", explained the Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, addressing the trade associations. “We consider it a new pact for exports, in a time of great difficulty, which will serve to secure our entrepreneurs, workers and families. But already now we need to start putting into practice what has been said, involving the main actors".
To deal with the effects on the Made in Italy of the Covid-19 epidemic, the government has strengthened public export support, with the introduction of a co-insurance system under which the commitments deriving from SACE's insurance business are undertaken by the State for 90% and by the same company for the remaining 10%, thus freeing up to a further 200 billion resources to be allocated to the enhancement of exports. And through the CuraItalia decree, in the conversion phase, it strengthened the fund managed by Simest with an additional non-refundable component.
The government also intends to increase agreements with large-scale international distribution, with a logic "analogous to that of e-commerce", a channel that we want to strengthen with a more aggressive strategy.
As for promotion, the idea is to adopt virtual fair models on specific business-to-business marketplaces. To this pillar must be added the training of digital managers who are added to the "temporary export managers."
In the field also the territorial strengthening of the ICE, as soon as possible, that means as soon as the health emergency is over, with flying desks and thematic roadshows.
