BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) -- A group of Chinese experts Monday shared experience in fighting against the COVID-19 outbreak with experts from the United States and Europe at the International Symposium on COVID-19 Treatment (Webcast).
In combating the COVID-19, integrating Chinese and western medicine treatment is the highlight of China's plan. Song Jun, a senior official with the China Association for Science and Technology, said that in the absence of effective drugs and vaccines, China has developed a systematic program to treat patients with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicines.
Tong Xiaolin, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said at the conference that intervention of Chinese medicine at the early stage plays a crucial role in controlling the COVID-19.
"The core is early treatment and early intervention, focusing on the community and putting the community in the first line of defense," Tong said.

China adhered to integrating traditional Chinese and western medicines, and carried out clinical examination, rehabilitation assessment and rehabilitation treatment, and has achieved good results, he said.
