BEIJING, April 7 (Xinhua) -- 28 major projects in southwest China's Chongqing municipality started construction on April 3, involving a total investment of 105.4 billion yuan, the Xinhua-run cnstock.com reported on April 4.
Of the total, there are 22 new infrastructure construction projects with a total investment of 81.5 billion yuan. These projects cover areas of 5G networks, big data centers and artificial intelligence.
There are also 6 infrastructure projects in strengthening areas of weakness, involving an investment of 23.9 billion yuan. The construction of Chongqing Public Health Medical Center Emergency Hospital and Three Gorges Public Health Emergency Hospital is among them. After completion, 3,500 beds of various types will be added, which will greatly complement Chongqing‘’s emergency medical facilities for infectious diseases.
An official with Chongqing Development and Reform Commission said that the construction of these major projects is an important measure for Chongqing to further carry out the innovation-driven development strategy led by big data and intelligence.
