CHANGCHUN, March 30 (Xinhua) -- China-Northeast Asia Expo has been recognized as a UFI International Event, said the Jilin Provincial Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
Held in Changchun since 2005, the China-Northeast Asia Expo is held every two years, attracting exhibitors from more than 100 countries and regions, including Japan, the Republic of Korea and Russia.
The application for the UFI International Event began in 2017 and the certification was obtained in February 2020, said Sui Ying with general coordination office of the Jilin Provincial Committee of CCPIT.
The certification requires the number of overseas exhibitors to be ten percent or more of the total and the number of foreign visitors to be five percent or more of the total number of visitors.
At the 12th China-Northeast Asia Expo in August 2019, there were 476 international exhibitors, accounting for 61.26 percent of the total; the number of international audiences was 7,755, accounting for 7.68 percent of the total.
UFI, stands for Union des Foires Internationales, is an international non-governmental organization for fairs and exhibitions.
By the end of 2018, UFI had 140 Chinese members and 100 UFI accredited exhibitions in China. (Edited by Yang Qi with Xinhua Silk Road, kateqiyang@xinhua.org)
