KIEV, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine and China have signed a host of agreements, which show great potential for bilateral cooperation despite the COVID-19 epidemic, said Iryna Nykorak, head of the Silk Road Association of Ukraine.
In a recent interview with Xinhua, she thanked the Chinese government and people for their support to Ukrainian nationals living in China as well as for doing everything possible to help them return to Ukraine.
The Chinese government has actively shared its experience in preventing and controlling the COVID-19 epidemic with other countries and has done its utmost to prevent the spread of the coronavirus worldwide, said Nykorak.
Noting that the Chinese government has made outstanding efforts and the Chinese people have played an important role in the global fight against the virus, Nykorak said that in the globalized world, only through the joint efforts of all countries can the world prevail over the epidemic.
The Ukrainian people are impressed by the capacity of the Chinese government to mobilize the whole country to fight the outbreak in a short time, she said, adding that the makeshift hospital built by the Chinese government in less than 10 days has demonstrated amazing efficiency and enthusiasm.
The Ukrainian people support the Chinese people and believe that the Chinese people will surely defeat the epidemic, she said.
As the peak of the current outbreak in China is over, China will resume production and continue to play its role as a major global manufacturer, said the Ukrainian analyst.
Hailing the joint construction of a solar power plant in Ukraine as a successful case, Nykorak said the two countries also have much room for cooperation in the construction of industrial parks.
