BEIJING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- The number of the China-Europe freight trains run by Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province has reached 405 by March 11 this year, up 104.1 percent year on year, reported www.cnr.cn Wednesday.
The total cargo volume transported by these freight trains reached 372,000 tonnes, 1.5 times of the figure in the same period of last year.
Since 2020, the freight trains have been running smoothly along the railway routes connecting Xi'an with port cities of Qingdao and Ningbo, bridging the local enterprises in Shaanxi to transit for sea transport.
During the period of epidemic prevention and control, the freight train operator in Xi'an has taken measures including rapid inspection and loading for the freight trains amid the epidemic, which ensures the regular and stable operation of the freight trains.
By far, Xi'an has launched a total of 13 China-Europe freight train routes connecting countries such as Kazakhstan, Belgium, Germany, and Poland. (Edited by Jiang Feifan, 346129473@qq.com)
