SHANGHAI, March 9 (Xinhua) -- The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) will host a special match-making session for central China's Hubei Province in an effort to support its economic development, according to the organizer.
The CIIE bureau said a series of measures including holding a special match-making meeting will be introduced to better offset the negative impact of the novel coronavirus on Hubei's economy.
The venue of the CIIE, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), donated 5 million yuan (about 719,500 U.S. dollars) to Hubei to fight the virus.
Non-contact means such as "cloud signings" and video calls have been introduced as the organizers are trying to offset the negative impact of the virus via the Internet.
More than 1,000 exhibitors worldwide had signed up to attend the 3rd CIIE by the end of February.
The CIIE is the first dedicated import exhibition in the world and has seen fruitful outcomes in the past two expos. The third CIIE will take place in Shanghai from Nov. 5 to 10.
