BEIJING, March 3 (Xinhua) – Shenzhen, a leading city in south China’s Guangdong Province recently has unveiled a slew of measures to guide the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention and control work and boost the city’s economic development.

Priority should be given to promote the resumption of work and production and accelerate the pace of bringing production capacity back to the average level as usual, to achieve the goal of economic and social development of the year.

According to the measures, a total of 200 billion yuan of investment will be injected by the local government into significant projects concerned with crucial areas this year, such as residents’ livelihood and public health.

In terms of high-tech development, while accelerating the construction of 5G technology, Shenzhen will facilitate the development of high-end communication devices, and high-performance medical devices in 2020.

The city will also make efforts to address difficulties that many service enterprises face in the resumption of work.

The measures also emphasized efforts in speeding up construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen pilot demonstration zone in 2020. (Edited by Jiang Feifan; 346129473@qq.com)
