InfoQuest (February 20, 2020) -- Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana revealed that his ministry will submit a new economic stimulus package to the cabinet next week to enable relevant measure to take effect in March. These measures include boosting confidence by spurring domestic consumption and stimulating tourism affected by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. Details of the measures are being worked out and the plan expects some funds to help push it through, which depends on the deliberation of the cabinet.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance also urged government departments and state-owned enterprises to prepare for the fiscal year 2020 budget. The first budget of 100 billion is expected to begin in May.
