February 20, 2020

Abstract : China's railway operator has resumed the construction of key projects in an orderly manner amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Wednesday.

BEIJING, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- China's railway operator has resumed the construction of key projects in an orderly manner amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, China State Railway Group Co.has ramped up efforts to scientifically and orderly restart the railway project construction and advance key works of the year in a full swing.

As of February 18, construction on 17 key railway projects, including the Beijing section of the Beijing-Shenyang railway, Beijing Daxing International Airport-Xiongan section of Beijing-Xiongan intercity high-speed railway as well as Lhasa-Nyingchi railway, has been restored in succession.

Besides, about 116 projects were scheduled to be put into operation or continue construction this year. By now, construction on 28 projects and 384 construction sites has been resumed in an orderly way with more than 70,000 workers returning to work.

To curb the spread of the epidemic and avoid cross-infection, the company has strictly carried out disinfection operations throughout the construction sites, including canteens and dormitories, and distributed face marks, gloves and goggles to workers in a bid to guarantee their health and personal safety.
