BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- China's leading baijiu makers are expected to resume production soon, boosting confidence in the liquor industry, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Wednesday.
Kweichow Moutai Group is scheduled to resume production officially on Thursday. With focus on the production and support system, the resumption will be carried out in two steps. By February 17, according to the epidemic situation, the group will gradually resume the packaging, storage, and other work.
Although Wuliangye Group has not disclosed the exact resumption time, it has asked subsidiaries to resume work orderly on the premise of doing a good job on the epidemic control.
The production process of Moutai spirit has a one-year production cycle and the production is very seasonal. Long-term suspension of production will definitely affect the quality of this year's baijiu products. The step-by-step and orderly resumption of production will not upset the annual plan, according to Li Baofang, chairman of Kweichow Moutai Group.
The resumption by Moutai, as a leading company in the industry, will boost the confidence and stabilize the industry development, Li added. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
