MILAN, Jan. 16 – (Class Editori) Danieli, a world leader in the steel and aluminum industry, as well as in planning, production and supply of turnkey plants, won a new supply which provides for the production of a new plant in China. Danieli obtained a contract by Chengde Jianlong for the supply of a continuous casting machine with five strands, which will be installed in Chengde factory, in Hebei Province of northeast China.
2019 has been a positive year for the Frulian company, which at the beginning of December won another two supplies in China, putting up for tender by Tangshan Reafon Iron & Steel and by Hengang Loating, in order to establish four new process control systems in Tangshan and Laoting factories.
During the last 18 months Butrio group has benefited from the closing of the USA market to Chinese steel, traditionally cheap, a fact that encouraged large USA groups to start investments, aiming at keeping their plants more efficient and lowering production costs. Danieli is particularly esteemed in the USA market and it has been on the market for decades, managing to obtain a series of important orders.
The latest example dates back to November, namely the factory opening for the production of billets in Columbia city (Indiana) on behalf of Steel Dynamics, with innovative technologies that allowed a decrease in the finished product cost by 22 USD per ton.
In the 2019 balance sheet, closed on the last 30th of June, core business turnover and plants supply increased by 18 percent, while profits edged up by 170 percent, during a period of declared steel crisis on the global markets, which led to a reduction in the production in the largest global markets.
The same phenomenon, which means efficiency reconversion measures of the plants, is now occurring in the Chinese market too, where for more than 20 years the chairman Gianpietro Benedetti has being aiming with determination at system production and plants supply, which now accounts for 50 percent of the group turnover.
15 years ago, Danieli entered the Chinese market with a representation office firstly, and then with the building of two factories, one close to Shanghai and another in Beijing, to be able to follow local customers closely. In the East, Danieli technology received increasingly stronger appreciation last year, winning continuous supplies.
