BEIJING, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The second Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum is expected to have more participants compared to the first one, said an official of China's Ministry of Commerce.
The forum will be held on Nov. 5 in Shanghai during the second China International Import Expo (CIIE).
More than 50 distinguished guests including leaders from the global top 500 companies will be the guest speakers at the forum, giving advice for the development of the world economy in a new era, said Chen Chao, deputy director of the ministry's Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs.
A series of high-level meetings on the interpretations of policies will be organized during the second CIIE, said Kong Fuan, vice director of the China International Import Expo Bureau.
A total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations and more than 3,600 enterprises participated in the first CIIE, held between Nov. 5 and Nov. 10 last year in Shanghai. It was the world's first import-themed national-level expo.
