MILAN, Sep 16 (Class Editori) – Puglia is one of the most active regions in relations with China and the only one that last year participated in the China International Import Expo, the first and most important Chinese exhibition open to markets around the world. "The Chinese market is a great development opportunity for our companies: but it is a complex market where we must look by understanding it," said Michele Emiliano, the governor of the region to MF Milano Finanza.
Not surprisingly, the regional business community, led by Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata, has enthusiastically joined the idea of Class Editori to organize an event in Bari dedicated to the Belt & Road Initiative, an event similar to the one held in Milan at the beginning of July at the Borsa Italiana headquarters.
Therefore, in Bari on Friday, 20 September, will take place a unique opportunity to understand the dynamics that allow companies to profitably exploit the opportunities offered by the realization of the New Silk Road, the project that is involving 70 countries in the world representing 65% of the global population and 40% of world GDP in 2017, including China.
"Belt & Road Initiative – An opportunity for companies from the Puglia region", organized by Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata and Class Editori, will take place in the Nuova Fiera del Levante Conference Center (from 9AM to 5:30PM) with the presence of representatives of institutions, businessmen, scholars and information professionals who deal with the broad spectrum of issues, highlighting topics of greater interest.
Among other things, speakers will talk about the new system of international cooperation and the role played by the universities, key data relating to economic and commercial relations between China and Italy, as well as infrastructure and the relationship between the banks of the two countries. Furthermore, an important role will be played by the successful case history of Italian businessmen together with an examination of the feasable forms of financing and information platforms that allow companies to receive the data and services needed to establish themselves internationally.
This is, for example, the purpose of the platform created by Class Editori in partnership with Xinhua (classxhsilkroad.it), the most important media group in China, as explained by Paolo Panerai (CEO of Class Editori) and Huang Yong (Xinhua) during the works that begin after the opening remarks by Leonardo Patroni Griffi - president of Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata, Michele Emiliano, Li Bin - Embassy of the People's Republic of China - of the Italian Embassy in Beijing, of Pasquale Casillo - Fiera del Levante - and Domenico De Bartolomeo - Bari Chamber of Commerce.
Zhang Xiangcheng – University of Cambridge – and Emanuele De Gennaro – Lum Jean Monnet University – will speak about their point of view, and then Carlo Maria Ferro (ICE), will explain the development paths to follow. Among the critical success factors there are infrastructure (Tiziano Onesti, Aeroporti di Puglia), others will be indicated by the businessmen who will share their successful stories: Pasquale Natuzzi (Natuzzi), Domenico Favuzzi (Exprivia), Vincenzo Fiore (Auriga), Mario Aprile (Organizzazione Aprile).
How should companies from the Puglia region move with respect to the BRI opportunity? The various aspects will be illustrated by Marina Brogi (University of Rome - "La Sapienza"), Marco Bettin (Fondazione Cina Italia, Italy-China Chamber of Commerce), Ernesto Somma (Invitalia), Antonio De Vito (Puglia Sviluppo), Alessandro Decio (SACE SIMEST).
Finally, before the concluding remarks by Michele Geraci – former Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Economic Development – will be discussed the possible forms of interaction between Italian and Chinese banking institutions, with Patroni Griffi, Jiang Xu (Bank of China), Pietro Candela (Alipay) , Shi Chen (Icbc), Gao Yunfeng (Union Pay). The meeting, moderated by Andrea Cabrini (Class Cnbc) is organized in collaboration with Lum Jean Monnet University, with the support of Auriga, Casillo, Organizzazione Aprile, Exprivia-Italtel and Natuzzi.
