BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- Ningxia's role as a strategic pivot in the Belt and Road (B&R) construction was given to full play as it has been actively integrating into such construction, said Shi Taifeng, secretary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China, at a press conference held recently by China's State Council Information Office.
Currently, a comprehensive, multilevel and multi-field opening-up pattern is taking shape in Ningxia, noted Shi.
To further opening-up of the region and push for the B&R construction, efforts have been made to build Ningxia Inland Opening-up Pilot Economic Zone, Yinchuan Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and Shizuishan Bonded Logistics Center, hold China-Arab States Expo, and upgrade comprehensive functions of the three land ports in Yinchuan, Shizuishan and Zhongwei.
Data showed that the total imports and exports of Ningxia in 2018 reached 24.92 billion yuan. Besides, Ningxia has so far developed economic and trade ties with more than 130 countries and regions around the world.
The region has also strengthened cooperation with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It has received industrial transfer from eastern developed regions and also improved cooperation with other provinces, autonomous regions or municipalities.
Besides, it has been focusing on improving its business environment so as to attract foreign investment, introducing a raft a favorable policies such as creating fair market environment, improving government service capacity, reducing tax and fees for enterprises, etc. (Contributed by Wu Congsi, Edited by Gu Shanshan)
