BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 International (Bozhou) Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Expo and the 35th National (Bozhou) TCM Trade Fair (Bozhou TCM Expo) will be held in Bozhou city of east China's Anhui province from September 6 to 12.
A total of 10 campaigns and 14 activities centering on economic and trade development, cultural exchange, and academic communication will be hosted at this year's Bozhou TCM Expo.
In addition to retaining the international activities such as TCM exhibition, Chinese herb and medicine trade fair, Qigong expo and fitness festival, the 2019 Bozhou TCM Expo will inaugurate five new events including a TCM plus Internet summit, the founding meeting of the national Chinese medicinal herbs market alliance, a forum on medical and pharmaceutical administration of TCM hospitals, TCM quality forum, and a meeting on Bozhou's biomedical innovative technology achievements.
Noticeably, this year's Bozhou TCM Expo will be entirely hosted for the first time by enterprises, who will have more opportunities to integrate resources and expand channels to build a platform for exchanges on TCM-related technology, ideas, concepts and for economic and trade cooperation, said Cao Zhenping, Deputy Mayor of Bozhou, adding that the government will continue to provide coordination, guidance and policy support.
By empowering enterprises, Bozhou aims to achieve the sustainable development of the expo, and propel the transformation and upgrading of the TCM industry of the city, according to Cao.
The Bozhou TCM Expo has kept expanding since its inception in 1985. Last year, the expo attracted about 100,000 participants from 12 countries and regions, and witnessed the signing of 87 project agreements that valued 55.4 billion yuan.
Driven by the expo, Bozhou's TCM industry has a current market value of more than 100 billion yuan and 190 GMP-certified enterprises. (Edited by Su Dan)
