LUSAKA, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A senior Zambian government official said on Tuesday that the southern African nation will always remain grateful for the cooperation and support it has received from China over the years.
Emmanuel Mwamba, Zambia's Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU), during his meeting with Liu Yuxi, Chinese Ambassador to the AU in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, that China has always been keen to support infrastructure development not only in Zambia but also in Africa as a whole, which will always be cherished.
The Zambian envoy said from the construction of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) rail line which enabled Zambia to access the seaport for imports and exports, China has continued to provide unwavering support for the country's development, according to a release.
On his part, the Chinese envoy said the TAZARA project was taught in schools in China and was held as a proud symbol of China-Africa relations.
He said China will support the continent to resolve its own issues and conflicts affecting it in an African way, and support Africa's quest to be included at the highest decision making level of the United Nations.
