Abstract: Following a meeting between Minister of Economic Development Luigi di Maio and Li Hongzhong, Tianjin Secretary, the two countries have already signed seven memorandums for strengthening the cooperation in different sectors, including biomethane and automotive. On September 25th-27th, the city will be included in a mission aimed at promoting Italian exports in China – a market paying a lot of attention to Made in Italy.
MILAN, Jul 15 (Class Editori) – The seven memorandums signed with Chinese institutions and companies for the strengthening of Italian cooperation with the city of Tianjin are worth around half a billion euros. The Chinese city, already hosting the Italian delegation, will be included among the stops of a mission bringing Italian companies to the People’s Republic on September 25th-27th and aimed at promoting exports in a market paying a lot of attention to Made in Italy.
The commercial agreements were signed following the meeting between Luigi Di Maio, the Italian Minister of Economic Development, and Li Hongzhong, CCP Secretary for the city of Tianjin and ranking as Deputy Prime Minister.
The bilateral agreement aims at enhancing and strengthening commercial exchanges with China, in particular with those areas different from the traditional Beijing and Shanghai. The so-called Jing-Jin-Ji golden triangle (short for Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei) is one of these new areas, in particular since the creation of Xiong’an in 2015 – the innovation integration center due to fasten up China’s pace in the long run for new technologies predominance, capable of hosting 2.5 million people, and destined to become a benchmark for Chinese-style smart cities.
The main point of the agreements is to develop an Italian-Chinese industrial park for SMEs, the backbone of growth in both countries and proposed by the Eu China Industrial and Commercial Promotion Union. Two of the seven agreements involve, instead, the Tianjin Iconiq New Energy Vehicol, which signed with Magna Steyr Italia and Studio Torino the cooperation in the components sector and for the development of the design of a new electric vehicle respectively .
Still in the automotive sector, the Sira company signed an agreement with the management committee of the Jinghai economic zone for a capital increase in the Sira Tianjing business, with the aim of developing components in the aluminum profusion sector, that is radiators.
In addition, the Sorgente Group signed an agreement with China Tianchen Engineering Corportion for the construction of biomethane factories.
To conclude, Chinese provincial authorities scheduled several mission in Italy in the coming months to intensify cooperation between the institutions of the two countries, which will allow – in view of the 50th anniversary of the relations between Italy and China in 2020 – to continue strengthening the diplomatic and commercial relations between Italy and China.
