MILAN, Jun 4 (Class Editori) -- Distretto 12 is ready for its debut in Asia, well-supported by its skyrocketing results.
In 2018 the brand, launched 4 years ago by Gruppo Y.L – specialized in the production under contract of outwear and coats in shuttle-weaved fabrics – managed to well-over double its performance against the year before, achieving a 1.2 million turnover and selling around 37.5 thousand pieces.
The company is enjoying a rosy 2019 outlook as well, expecting 3.5 million in revenues, up 64% against 2018. "Research and innovation are our building blocks. Our production fully agrees with the Made in Italy concept and with the sustainability principles, as it takes place in the Prato district in its entirety," explained Alessandro Hong, General Manager and Co-Founder of Gruppo Y.L, to MFF.
Distretto 12, already serving around 450 international and Italian clients, has as its main current objective the internationalization of the brand, and has set course, first and foremost, toward Asia. "At present, foreign customers earn us 35% of our revenues. We will be opening a new showroom in Shanghai by the end of the year, and we intend to use it as a springboard to start distribution in Asia. This should strengthen our existing network, already comprised of 17 shops in Italy and 9 around the world. Furthermore, starting from the fall-winter 2019/20 season, we will be landing in some selected shops in Japan through the help of a partner," added the businessman.
"At the moment, our best outlet markets are Italy, Germany, and Benelux. We have recently reached Anvers as well, joining the Fashion Club70 showroom – one of the biggest in Europe. We are also considering France and Scandinavia".
Finally, Distretto 12 is planning to strengthen its position on the Italian market as well, through a communication campaign which includes the launch, during the next few days and at the same time as Pitti Uomo, of its spring-summer 2020 collection. It is its second after the one in January, and will be enjoying a dedicated space in Via Faenza in Milan.
