BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- China will expand the market-oriented power trading, and promote pilot projects of incremental power distribution reform and pilot spot power trading in 2019, in a bid to continuously accelerate the power system reform, according to National Reform and Development Commission (NDRC).
Kunming Power Trading Center, with comparativley mature power trading system, reiterated at the end of April that Yunnan will strictly implement the rules on power market access in the province without any preconditions, additional thresholds or extra procedures.
This would encourage power users, power generation companies and power sales companies to enter Yunnan’s power market, and promote the power market reform in Yunnan, said a researcher in power industry.
Meanwhile, the North China Energy Regulatory Bureau of National Energy Administration issued the basic rules for operation, medium and long-term trading and spot trading in power market of west Inner Mongolia for consultation, in order to accelerate the construction of pilot spot trading market.
China is expected to launch a guideline for further promoting the construction of power spot market soon, said Yuan Da, director of Department of Policy Studies and the spokesperson of NDRC.
At present, the power spot markets in Guangdong, Shanxi and Gansu are carrying out simulation tests, which will accumulate experience and improve the system for expanding power spot transactions. (Edited by Tong Wei, tongwei@xinhua.org)
