HAGUE, April 30 (Xinhua) -- A traditional Chinese Caicha (tea-picking) opera presented by the troupe from Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province, has drawn applauses from audience in Delft, the Netherlands.
By staging a selection of well-known pieces such as Butterfly Lovers (Liang-Zhu), the performers intrigued both overseas Chinese and locals into the realm of original-flavored Chinese culture through fine librettos as well as skilled vocals and dancing.
The performance has enriched the cultural exchanges between China and the Netherlands, said an official from the municipality of Hague.
At the same time, the official also expressed his hope that more similar events should be held in the Netherlands in a bid to further deepen the cultural exchanges between the two countries.
This is the last stop of the Caicha opera’s European tour. Previously, the troupe also performed in the Czech Republic and Germany.
