GUANGZHOU, April 19 (Xinhua) -- Vipshop Holdings Ltd., China's major online discount retailer, generated total net revenues of 84.52 billion yuan (about 12.29 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018, up 15.9 percent year on year.
The NYSE-listed company announced on Thursday its annual and transition report of foreign private issuers in the United States. It reported a 4.8 percent year-on-year increase to 17.07 billion yuan in gross profit in 2018.
In 2018, Vipshop, which had 60.5 million active customers, recorded approximately 437.4 million customer orders.
The company's net income increased 9.2 percent to 2.13 billion yuan (about 310.3 million U. S. dollars), the report said.
Launched in 2008 as Vipshop.com, the company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012, and a year later launched Vip.com.
