InfoQuest, (April 13, 2019) -- Recently, the International Rubber Consortium (IRCo) had convened a board meeting, during which representatives from Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia had discussions on relevant issues, according to Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT).
The meeting stressed the implementation of the sixth Agreed Export Tonnage Scheme (AETS) through the three countries’ respective domestic regulators for the period of 4 months since April 1, 2019. Under the sixth AETS, the three member countries of International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC) agreed on export cutbacks of 240,000 tons of natural rubber.
In addition to that, the three ITRC member countries discussed the inconsistency of natural rubber production statistics which was reported by various agencies. In this regard, ITRC member countries confirmed that natural rubber production in 2018 from Thailand was 4.879 million tons, Indonesia, 3.63 million tons and Malaysia, 0.603 million tons.
