BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) -- China's top economic planner and Ministry of Transport (MOT) recently jointly issued a plan on the construction of national logistics hubs, indicating that China's logistics construction will embrace a new round of upgrade.
According to the plan, in 2019, China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and MOT will jointly determine a construction list of around 15 national logistics hubs.
The determination will be made by taking into account major national strategies like the Belt and Road construction, the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In principle, the national logistics hubs should be built based on logistics hubs that are in operation and have relatively complete infrastructure, strong market demands, great development potential, strong regional driving effect and certain industry influence, the plan said.
The first batch of national logistics hubs may be located in regions along the Belt and Road routes, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region, the Greater Bay Area or other regions, believed analysts from Guotai Junan Securities.
The construction may focus on strengthening intra-regional integration and optimization, carrying out multimodel transport and enhancing information input, said the above analysts, adding that calculated by existing logistics park construction cost, one-square kilometer expansion of each hub can drive an investment of 48 billion yuan nationwide.
