China-Europe freight train from Chengdu opens 1st enterprise express

April 02, 2019

Abstract : China-Europe freight train from Chengdu in Southwest China has opened the first enterprise express, Skyworth Express, for the use of Chinese television manufacturer Skyworth Group Co Ltd.

BEIJING, April 4 (Xinhua) -- China-Europe freight train from Chengdu in Southwest China has opened the first enterprise express, Skyworth Express, dedicated to transporting products of Chinese television manufacturer Skyworth Group Co Ltd.

The new train departed from Chengdu on March 29 will arrive at Lodz, Poland ten days after. It carried 41 cabinets loaded with TV displays, motherboards and other spare parts.

With the new route, more than 2/3 of the logistics time will be saved compared to the traditional way of sea transportation, according to Wang Zhiguo, the Board Chair and President of Shenzhen Skyworth-RGB. He also revealed that the operation of the train will be normalized in the future, with 2-4 trains per month expected.

The opening of the train is an active move of Skyworth’s going-global facing European market. According to Wang, the company plans to export 1.5 million TV sets to Europe in 2019.

The first enterprise express will set a good example for other Chinese manufacturers trading abroad, influencing the industry of smart home appliances, computers, logistics automation equipment and so on, commented an officer at the Chengdu International Railway Port.
