BEIJING, Apr. 1 (Xinhua) -- The city government of Linhai, a county-level city in east China's Zhejiang Province, on March 28 signed an investment framework agreement with two Chinese firms on the Toumen port energy base and supporting facilities project which involves a total investment of 17.5 billion yuan.
The two Chinese firms are respectively the China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. (CRFSD), one of China's top 100 survey and design institutes, and a Henan-based company engaging in LNG logistics.
The project, located in Zhejiang Toumen port economic development zone, comprises of projects like the liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal and supporting facilities, LNG Internet trading center and cold chain logistics park.
Covering an area of around 900 mu (about 60 hectares), the project can bring an annual sales revenue exceeding 40 billion yuan and contribute tax revenue of over 5 billion yuan after being completed.
The LNG receiving terminal project, a key node for Toumen port to carry out its role of energy resource storage and transport base, will be a strong support for Linhai City to develop port economy, nurture emerging industries and create new trade and tax growth points, noted Mei Shimiao, the Party chief of Linhai City, at the signing ceremony.
