BEIJING, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group Co (GAC Group) will continue its efforts to step up the layout of its mobility program, which is scheduled to be launched in June this year, reported the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal.
It is learned that the program was jointly invested and initiated by GAC Group, Chinese internet giant Tencent, Guangzhou Public Transport and other investors, with total investment of 1 billion yuan.
According to the report, GAC Group will strengthen cooperation with Tencent in multiple fields, including policy resources, industrial experience, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, automatic driving, in a bid to advance the R&D and application of internet-connected mobility technology and gradually realize the company’s business version as the first internet-connected mobility service platform.
In 2018, the company saw its net profits attributable to shareholders reach 10.903 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.08 percent and it total operating revenue inched up 0.53 percent to 71.515 billion yuan. It produced and sold about 2.19 million vehicles and 2.15 million vehicles in 2018, up 8.77 percent and 7.34 percent, respectively. (Edited by yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
