Abstract : Envision AESC, the battery industry fund of Envision Group, has completed the acquisition of Automotive Energy Supply Corporation previously owned by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., according to Envision Group.

NANJING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Envision AESC, the battery industry fund of Envision Group, has completed the acquisition of Automotive Energy Supply Corporation previously owned by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., according to Envision Group.

The acquisition includes the controlling stake of all the power battery production bases in Japan, the United States and the UK. Envision AESC and Nissan hold around 80 percent and 20 percent of the shares respectively in the newly-established Japanese holding company Envision AESC Group Ltd.

Shoichi Matsumoto, Envision AESC Group CEO, said that more than 430,000 electric vehicles have installed lithium-ion batteries manufactured by the company in Japan, the United States and Europe, with zero instances of critical malfunction such as catching fire.

With a head office in Japan, Envision AESC Group operates battery production bases in Zama of Japan, Tennessee of the United States and Sunderland of the UK. The company located its fourth production and R&D base in China, with a plant officially commencing construction in February in Wuxi of eastern China's Jiangsu Province.

The Wuxi plant is expected to manufacture lithium-ion batteries (NCM811) with an estimated annual production capacity of 20GWh and provide power batteries every year for about 400,000 new energy vehicles worldwide.

Meanwhile, Envision AESC also acquired the entire share capital of NEC Energy Devices, Ltd., a battery electrode manufacturer under NEC Corporation, according to the press release.

Founded in 2007, Envision Group is a pioneer in energy internet of things (IoT) and owner of the intelligent IoT operating system EnOS, managing 100GW of energy assets globally.
