InfoQuest (March 19, 2019) -- Banjongjit Angsueng, director-general of the DITP noted that at present, digital content industry in Thailand has great development potential. The government should take measures to promote its growth. It is estimated that digital content market in Thailand totaled 2.6 million baht in 2018. Therefore, the DITP has launched a program to promote digital content and relevant businesses in overseas market. These efforts will also help secure more opportunities to boost creative economy, promote competitiveness of service providers in Thailand and shape Thailand as a creative country in the world.
Trade fairs provide another important channel for Thailand companies to get access to overseas market. This year, under the guidance of the DITP, seven game software companies will participate in Game Connection America 2019 which takes place from 18 to 22 in March 2019 in San Francisco. It is one of the biggest commercial game meetings in the world which brings over 3,000 participants from 60 countries and regions.
Participating in such event not only creates business negotiation opportunities for Thailand entrepreneurs, but also helps foreign entrepreneurs know the potential and resolution of Thailand game software entrepreneurs in creating international products.
As for entertainment industry, under the joint guidance of the DITP, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, 22 entertainment companies, including seven film and animation producers and publishers, eight film and video service providers, four TV program and TV series producers and three documentary producers, will participate in Hong Kong International Film & TV Market 2019 (FILMART) which will take place from 18 to 21 in March 2019. The DITP encourages trade talks, aiming to export Thailand entertainment products to overseas market.
For advertising industry, the DTP, collaborating with Asia Pacific Advertising Association, encourages seven advertising companies to participate in ADFEST 2019, a grand event in this industry. ADFEST has various events, such as seminars for Thai and foreign experts to exchange ideas, advertising competitions, business negotiations and service network promotion in order to enhance trading network and to show the potential of Thailand advertising industries. This will help Thailand's advertising industry gain international recognition. The event will take place from 20 to 23 in March 2019 in Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH).
"We believe digital content providers in Thailand have creativity and potential in every step. However, if we do more to expand new markets overseas…It is estimated that over 600 million baht of revenue will be created, " said Banchong Chitt.
