BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui Province plans to establish a database to track major Belt and Road investment projects worth more than 10 million U.S. dollars and engineering projects with newly signed contract value of over 50 million U.S. dollars, according to the Bureau of Commerce of Anhui Province recently.
The move is one of the demonstrations of the province's ambition on deep involvement in Belt and Road Initiative and high-quality development of economic cooperation with B&R countries and regions.
In 2019, the province will strengthen investment cooperation with target countries including Germany, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India and Indonesia in areas of advanced equipment manufacturing, infrastructure, building materials and comprehensive agricultural development, said Zhang Jian, head of the Provincial Bureau of Commerce.
As for export, Anhui will provide more competitive products such as automobiles, home appliances, clothing, agricultural and sideline products which are in great demand of the Belt and Road countries with large population, added Zhang.
Data shows that in the first ten months of 2018, Anhui's trade with countries and regions along the Belt and Road totaled 12.42 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 10.8 percent; while its non-financial direct investment doubled to 140 million U.S. dollars and accomplished turnover of contracted projects increased 12 percent to 1.25 billion U.S. dollars.
