PARIS, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- France saw more new enterprises registered in January from a month earlier due to growing investment in business support activities, data released by national statistics bureau Insee showed on Friday.
Last month, Europe's second largest economy numbered 67,115 new firms, up by 13.8 percent from December 2018 with those dealing with business support activities grew by 23.7 percent.
Over the period, the number of self-managed enterprises jumped by 25.4 percent to 33,237 firms compared with December data. On yearly basis, the figure rose by 27.9 percent.
"In January, the share of micro-entrepreneurs' registrations in the businesses setup over the last 12 months grew for the 15th month in a row and reached 45.1 percent," Insee said.
On quarterly basis, the number of enterprise births jumped by 11.8 percent, pulled up mainly by buoyant transport and storage activities.
