BEIJING, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province recently pledged to apply for the establishment of a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) to boost the Belt and Road (B&R) Construction, according to Liu Jiayi, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee of Shandong.
The establishment of the FTZ in Shandong is expected to be a key measure to enhance industrial cooperation with Germany, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan and other countries in pursuing opening up on all fronts.
The efforts will be made at the construction of economic and trade demonstration zones in cities such as Jinan, the capital of Shandong, as well as Qingdao, Weihai and Yantai, three of major port cities in Shandong. (Edited by Jiang Feifan)
