BEIJING, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- China concluded 405 mergers and acquisitions (M&As) deals, with transactions reaching 70.26 billion U.S. dollars, according to a report of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Wednesday.
To be specific, the overseas financing under the M&A deals reached 42.81 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 60.9 percent of the total M&A transactions.
According to the MOC, China's outbound direct investment (ODI) rose 4.2 percent year on year to 129.83 billion U.S. dollars in 2018. Of the total, non-financial ODI edged up 0.3 percent to 120.5 billion U.S. dollars, while financial ODI surged 105.1 percent to 9.33 billion U.S. dollars.
Experts note that the country's ODI maintained stable development last year and the irrational investment has been effectively curbed. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
