BEIJING, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Belarus has become an important railway intersection along the Belt and Road routes, with a total of 3,000 China-Europe freight trains passing through Belarus in the first 11 months of 2018.
Boosted by cooperation under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative, the bilateral trade between China and Belarus surged 17 percent on year by the end of November 2018, of which the exports from Belarus to China increased 31 percent year on year, said H.E. Rudy Kiryl, Ambassador of Belarus to China at a press conference recently held in Beijing.
Bilateral cooperation between China and Belarus yielded remarkable results in 2018. Specifically, the two countries signed a visa-free agreement for the period of up to 30 days for ordinary passport holders, a major result of the Year of Tourism of Belarus in China, greatly promoting the development of tourism.
The ambassador also highlighted that the China-Belarus industrial park so far has had a total of 42 enterprises registered, which mainly came from China, Belarus, Russia as well as some European countries, and the industrial park is expected to become an important platform for promoting the B&R construction in European countries.
