BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba on Thursday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shunyi District of Beijing, to facilitate the smart city construction in the suburban district of Beijing, Xinhua-run cn.stock.com reported on Friday.
According to the MoU, Alibaba will launch Hema Fresh north China's operating center, Cainiao smart logistic park in Shunyi to promote the construction of smart city in Beijing.
Meanwhile, Alibaba will assist Shunyi on consumption upgrade by introducing Tmall store, YINTAI department store, and the local life services. The company will take advantage of its technologies such as cloud computing, big data and Internet of Things (IoT) to help Shunyi enhance digital processing of government affairs, according to the MoU.
