BEIJING, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The first designated port for imported fruit and chilled aquatic products in Northwest China's Gansu Province was official opened in the provincial capital Lanzhou, according to Lanzhou customs.
The formal operation of the designated port in Gansu Province serves as a new channel for aviation trade between Lanzhou and Southeast Asia, which has shortened import time and lowered the cost. Fresh aquatic products and fruits from Southeast Asia may enter Lanzhou within one day.
The first batch of inbound fruits and chilled aquatic products from Thailand, including eight tonnes of small pineapples, 15 tonnes of frozen ribbonfish and ten kilograms of chilled groupers, arrived in the Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport on Tuesday and passed through the inspection of customs afterwards.
