BEIJING, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Henan province will start construction of ten major water conservancy projects in the next two years, and the projects with a total investment of over 34.3 billion yuan will be completed by 2023.
Under these projects, more than 1,434.3 km channels or pipe lines will be built and 889.9 kilometers of embankments and riverways will be controlled and improved.
After completion, Henan will see its annual water supply capacity increase 1.78 billion cubic meters, with an additional irrigated area of 3.387 million mu (15 mu equal one hectare).
In addition, these projects will help improve local flood discharge capacity and effectively realize the flood control.
