SHIJIAZHUANG, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Altogether 50-plus small-and medium-sized enterprises (SME) from Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Poland, and nearly 200 from China got together at the First China-CEEC SME Cooperation Forum held in Changzhou, Hebei Province on Monday, discussing the new development mode of SME in China and Central and Eastern Europe.
China-CEEC (Changzhou) SME Cooperation Zone, established in Changzhou in February, is devoted to strengthening China's cooperation with European countries in the fields of modern technology and service, general aviation, high-end manufacturing, and green agricultural products.
At present, the cooperation zone focuses on building of high-tech emerging industrial cluster covering business, research and development, cultivation, and manufacturing.
Xia Yanjun, vice governor with Hebei province noted that the cooperation zone is created as the important platform of “16+1 cooperation”, which is designed to be a trade cooperation exhibition base, industrial cooperation base, and cultural exchange center of products in Central and Eastern Europe.
At the forum involving general aviation, high-end manufacturing,commercial service, and cultural exchange, a total of 16 projects have been signed, with total investment reaching 8.8 billion yuan. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
