BANGKOK, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- China and Thailand on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding on a project to strengthen cooperation on hydropower projects and mitigation of associated climate change impacts.
The project seeks to establish an information-sharing platform that will bring together relevant stakeholders and experts from China and Mekong countries to enhance their mechanisms for communication and knowledge exchange, particularly on the analysis and design of technical solutions to better manage water storage structures.
The project aims to translate information to beneficial strategies, especially for communities in hydropower project sites. For the first phase, the project will focus on hydrological stations.
