BEIJING, July 18 (Xinhua) -- China General Nuclear Power Co (CGN) announced on July 17 that its subsidiary CGN Europe Energy had signed an equity transfer agreement with Macquarie Group and General Electric Co to purchase a 75 percent stake in Sweden's north pole wind power project.
According to the announcement, the project, with the largest unit capacity in Europe, will install 179 sets of 3.63MW wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of 650,000 kilowatts, and is expected to start operation at the end of 2019
Upon operation, the wind farm will feed power demand of 400,000 families and reduce carbon dioxide emission of 750,000 tonnes each year.(Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
