BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shanghai will especially promote the opening-up of the industries such as automobiles, aircraft and ships, according to the 100 new measures rolled out by the local municipal government on Tuesday.
Shanghai encourages foreign investors to invest in advanced manufacturing and fully implement the management model of pre-establishment national treatment (PENT) with a negative list. It will further open up the fields of automobile, aviation, shipbuilding, green import remanufacturing and maintenance, promote the landing of major industrial projects, and spare no effort to build automobile and electronic information industries, according to Huang Ou, deputy head of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said that according to the national deployment, Shanghai will speed up the elimination of restrictions on foreign share holding in the automobile manufacturing industry and the number of joint ventures of vehicle production.
Meanwhile, Shanghai will attract world-renowned foreign-funded enterprises to build R&D centers and high-end automobile projects and support implementation of high-performance motors, batteries, electronic control and other core components supporting projects, said Huang.
In terms of the aviation industry, Shanghai will attract foreign investment in aircraft engine assembly, airborne systems and key components, and support the foreign investors to develop aircraft maintenance and component maintenance services here. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
