BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The Wenchang aerospace supercomputing center project in Wenchang of China’s southernmost island province of Hainan is expected to kick off construction this November, according to Hainan Daily.
Located in the planning area of Wenchang aerospace modern city, the project is expected to cover an area of about 671 mu (44.7 hectares) with total investment planed at 3.5 billion yuan, Hainan Daily reported during a seminar held in Wenchang.
It is noted that Wenchang aerospace supercomputing center is the core of Wenchang aerospace supercomputing big data industry cluster project which would be jointly developed by Hainan Shiny-Day Group and Vancoo Commerce Internet Industry (Qingdao) Co., Ltd.
The industry cluster would push forward the construction of four industrial parks including aerospace information technology, aerospace information, aerospace equipment design and aerospace life science. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
