BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong province saw its foreign trade totaled 739.8 billion yuan in the first five months of the year, up 1.9 percent year on year, according to the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province.
To be specific, its export value amounted to 400.93 billion yuan during the period, an increase of 2.8 percent year on year, while its import value stood at 338.87 billion yuan, an increase of 0.9 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, Shandong province saw its exports to the countries along the Belt and Road routes totaled 108.37 billion yuan in the first five months of the year, up 2.2 percent year on year. The province saw its exports to emerging markets, such as Latin America, Oceania, and Africa up 17.7 percent, 5.4 percent, and 6.7 percent respectively, and saw its exports to traditional markets, such as the United States, EU, South Korea, and Japan up 2.5 percent, 1.7 percent, 0.1 percent, and 0.5 percent respectively to reach 69.57 billion yuan, 59.89 billion yuan, 43.23 billion yuan, and 42.69 billion yuan.
