BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhua) -- During the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival held in east China’s Shanghai, the Belt and Road (B&R) Film Festival Alliance was established on June 16.
Representatives from 31 institutions of 29 countries along the B&R routes signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) in this regard.
Since 2015, Shanghai International Film Festival has constantly explored diversified cooperation means to enhance exchanges among film practitioners from the countries along the B&R routes, which has received active responses from those countries.
During the film collection of the 2018 Shanghai International Film & TV Festival, 1,369 films from 49 B&R countries were submitted for competition or exhibition. (Edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
