MILAN, Mar. 16 (Class Editori) - Huawei Italia will supply protection devices and technological solutions in order to cope with the emergency situation caused by Covid-19 infection. Moreover, the company has established an internal crisis management unit, with the aim of better collaborating with national and local partners and launching jointed support actions, together with telecommunications operators and partners.
“We are close to Italy, the country in which Huawei is present since over 16 years; we believe it is our duty to offer technology, competences and medical supplies in such a critical moment”, the CEO of Huawei Italia, Thomas Miao, has explained. “Collaboration and solidarity beyond borders are essential to support institutions and health professionals who are working hard to improve the health conditions of the Italian citizens affected by the emergency”
The company has already given 1,000 protective suits addressed to some hospitals in Milan and 200 thousand FFP2 CE masks are coming from China.
A large part of the aid plan is based on technology. “Starting from devices up to high-performance network connectivity, a complete range of solutions will support the huge effort made by the entire country in this difficult situation, as the Chinese big tech has explained in a note.
Huawei is offering to facilitate the information and good practice exchange between Italian and Chinese teams thanks to its cloud collaboration platform named Welink. The company has already supported the health emergency in China, and therefore it has made available the experience learnt on that occasion as well as the relationship with the health care structures based in the critical Chinese areas which are now overcoming the most severe phase of the epidemic.
Moreover, Wi-Fi network devices will be provided to 10 temporary hospitals in order to enable communications with other health care bodies. Huawei is working with some of its partners to establish an ad hoc videoconference platform able to provide a live connection between the red zone hospitals and the crisis unit of the belonging region or the appointed government body, by remotely ensuring a continuous emergency coordination.
