Senior reporter of the Xinhua News Agency; Chinese Han nationality; born in January 1963, with hometown in Lianshui, Jiangsu Province; graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of Fudan University in 1984; started to work at Xinhua News Agency after graduating in the international journalism major of the Department of Journalism of Fudan University in July 1987; visiting scholar at Quaid-i-Azam University in Pakistan from September 1989 to June 1990; served consecutively as reporter of the Features Stories Department of the Xinhua News Agency, reporter of the Hong Kong Bureau, vice-director of the economic information office of the Home News For Overseas Service Department, vice-director of the Analysis Report Office of the Economic Information Department, and general manager of marketing of the North America Regional Bureau (granted status on par with a counselor); chief correspondent of the Istanbul Bureau from May 2010 to now; won a collective honor as the convener of the overseas reporting team of military news on the return of Hong Kong to the motherland; awarded as “Outstanding Individual” by the Party Committee of Xinhua for his prominent contribution to work at the 80th anniversary of founding of Xinhua in 2011.
