BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhua) – Southwest China's Sichuan Province has vigorously promoted the Belt and Road construction in recent years with more than 130 overseas agreements signed, according to the report by yidaiyilu.gov.cn.
In recent years, Sichuan has taken the initiative to strengthen its ties with countries along the Belt and Road routes. The number of the countries setting up consulates in Sichuan has increased to 17, representing the third place in China.
In terms of the trade exchanges, it has accumulatively approved a total of 11,000 foreign-invested enterprises. The number of the Global top 500 companies settling in Sichuan has been 331, of which 235 are foreign-funded companies.
In addition, there are 37 foreign financial institutions in Sichuan. 14 multinational corporations have set up 18 cross-border two-way RMB capital pool accounts.
In terms of the foreign trade, in 2017, the Province’s foreign trade amounted to 460.59 billion yuan, an increase of 41.2 percent year on year. To be specific, its foreign trade with the countries along the Belt and Road routes jumped nearly 80 percent. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
